Using an Iron or Aluminum fence to surround your home or business is a great way to add a flash of elegance to your outdoor patio. Iron and Aluminum fence both have an open construction with an opening of less than 4 inches between the pickets.  This means you don’t need to worry about obstructing your view as you would with a wood or vinyl fence.   You also get the durability of an iron or aluminum fence as well. Both of these fence types are much more durable than a wood or vinyl fence and much more attractive than chain-link.

Concerned about strength and durability? We offer our Stronghold Iron and Infinity Aluminum fences in a heavy-duty Signature grade built to withstand the rigors of commercial use.  Signature grade fence and gates have a larger profile with thicker pickets and larger welded finial tips than their Traditional grade counterparts.

We built our Signature grade line with heavier-duty specs to withstand commercial use, but many homeowners purchase it for the additional peace of mind in the strength and for the look of the larger profile.

If you are installing your iron or aluminum patio fence over a paved or wood surface that you cannot dig up to bury the posts in cement like a standard yard application, we also offer posts with a flange foot on them that can be bolted into the paved or wood surface. So long as the area is level, these posts are great for concrete and wood patio areas. If you have the option to bury your posts in the ground surrounded by poured concrete or utilize a flange post, always go with the cemented in option.  While the flange posts are a sufficient way to install your posts, a cemented in post buried 2ft or more in ground will withstand much more leverage force should something come in contact with the fence.

What If I Don’t Want Those Decorative Finial Tips on Top?

One concern we often hear when utilizing our Stronghold Iron and Infinity Aluminum fences for a patio, is that folks are worried that the decorative finial tips on top will pose an impale hazard. Our iron and aluminum finial castings have a safety ball as part of the design.  The top of the finial is rounded and does not present an impale hazard.  However, if your insurance carrier will only permit a patio enclosure with a smooth top, we offer several styles without any pickets protruding through the top.
